X1900XT Vivo

Hi Guys,

I have the Asus X1900xt. How do I use the vivo (particularly video in) part of the card.
I understand the cables to connect, but what about the software. The card didnt seem to come with any software on the driver CD for that. (I installed the newest ATi drivers anyways.)

Thanks for any help

ATI driver software doesn't supply applications for doing anything in particular. Nearly all video cards come with some sort of software to allow basic use of the VIVO functions. At minimum, you should have ATI Multimedia Center on the CD (you can't download the full version from ATI, only updates). MMC allows you to watch video and do a bunch of other things, but may not have as detailed or easy to use an interface as third-party programs. I can't really figure out what's included with that card, but there may also be other applications which can be used for watching video, or capturing and editing it.

There are plenty of 3rd-party, free programs for watching video and capturing it. They don't have to be made specifically for your video card, as they interface with Windows to use whatever video inputs are available.

The manual for the card should have detailed what options you have for using each feature, including the VIVO. You may have to load the PDF version of the manual from the main CD.

So what kind of software would anybody reccommend?

Also I installed the 6.7 catalysts with the WMD in it but I still have an ?unknown in my device manager. Anybody know what that device is?

Thanks for the reply about third party programs, I didnt even know they exist. What would you call those types of software?

Thanks again,
