Hello fellas. Well I just completed my new build and already I'm having issues. I have updated all the drivers on the system but the video card. The drivers that came on the Catalyst CD work fine but when I try to upgrade to the latest ones, my system will not boot into anything other than the standard VGA adapter. When I go into the graphics settings, it tells me that the drivers are made for an older version of windows but I'm using XP. What is going on here?

New Bulid? no doubt you do not have MS Net.frame (whatever it's called) files installed which new Catalyst drivers need to work right. There is a link on ATi's driver page which directs you to the one you need.

Don't use the CD at all. Uninstall the old drivers, run the program called Driver Cleaner to make sure all traces of the old drivers are off.

Now, make sure .Net 2.0 is installed. Install the Catalyst 6.8's from ATI's website and there you go.
