X1900XT overdrive/overclocks?

I unlocked the overdrive thing (and voided my warrenty? oh well) and ran the auto clock configurator thing. Its determined 662mhz core speed and 720mhz memory speed is safe, so thats my overclock.

Anyone else use overdrive or overclock your XT?? How far did you get?

Overdrive doesn't void your warranty due to the fact it's a feature IN ati's drivers. Wouldn't make much sense if ATI did that.

😕
Yea the same way Nvidia has Coolbits? and that doesn't viod your warrenty???? (unless Overdrive is different in some way, havn't used ATI in a while)
AFAIK any overclocking will viod a warrenty UNLESS it states somewere in the warrenty that it's ok to OC the cards (like Evga's) and of course execpt vmodding 😛

Besides (if I remember) Overdrive was crap. Use RivaTuner and get a good OC yourself.

umm a user needs to go out and find coolbits to enabled it. Most users probably don't even know what ocing is so they certianly arn't going to magically think to serach for something like coolbits.
Overdrive is right there by default. The user doesn't have to do a damn thing other than click unlock. Also the CCC doesn't say anything about voiding warrenty's or anything like that when you click the unlock button.

So I would say its quite a bit different.

ATI even offered it's own program for software volt modding so I doubt that overclocking voids the warranty on any of the X1xx series cards. I agree that Overdrive sucks because not only are you limited to under 700 mhz core and 800 mhz ram but it will loosen the ram latencies so if you want a better, but still easy to use, program get rivatuner.

all OCing voids the warranty (except evga ofcourse).
besides if someone is toooooo stupid to know what Ocing is then they should not be be in the driver control panel. CCC offers a basic mode right. idiots should use that.

Have you read every manufacters warrenty? If not how do you know??? Most of them actually only care about physical modifications and wether there is physical damage to the card.
