It's all relative. Given that the x1800 launched for $650 and the 512gtx launched for $700 and then got jacked up to $1000, $550 for a high end card on launch day is a good price.

No, but gold toilet paper wouldn't let me play FEAR at very high res with all of the eye candy. At least I don't think it would.

There's no gurantee that this card will either, I'm not going to bite until I see some official benchmarks.

I am pretty tempted to pick it up myself. I could sell my GTX and get this bad boy. The only thing is, Nvidia has been very good to me :)

You did not just post that! :p
I'm so tempted to jump on this deal it's not even funny...
You're tempted???? :p

I have a 7800GTX 512, X800XL and just bought the X1800XT for $400(not including a possible $50 rebate). And I have it in my cart.

But, I'm going to assume that the price can only go down?

Ya, I can remember only a few years ago when UBER high end cards were 250-300$ when released.

Thats what I was thinking, it must be like the 6800GT vs Ultra. I am very tempted, but I think I am going to hold off until I see a few more benchies and comparisons. Also curious to see what Nvidia has.

that was 50mhz oc last time i checked and we all know how good r520 ocs if the r580 is just as good there is no reason at all to get the xtx.

I tried to contact Actbuy but nobody pick up the phone.
Have anyone order from them before?
This guy ordered from them today and spoke to them on the phone - http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?t=437453

Actbuy tends to be one of the first to carry new stuff. I've bought from once in the afternoon and they shipped that same day.

Hey KT, this is the first time I've ordered from them but the process was smooth and they've already shipped the card! I'd have to say that they're a quality outfit from those two things alone. I chose the free ground shipping so it won't be here until next week. I really didn't think they would ship the card yesterday or I may have sprung for overnight shipping. ;) No biggie because my new monitor won't be here until next week and that's the reason I'm upgrading.

Awesome, thanks for the info. I have told, I mean asked, my friend to order one of these for me. Hopefully everything will go smoothly (I'm sure it will), too bad I won't actually get to play with this thing though, it will be headed to Calgary unopened :(

I will just have to wait until I build my new rig in a couple months, though by then I may want the G71 :p
