Oops, OP you beat me. ;)

Newegg says it's OEM. I thought OEM packaging didn't have a UPC, or may have a UPC that's different than the retail version. Anybody get their card yet to confirm it has a UPC, and that it matches the PN# on the rebate?

although oem's come in brown boxes, they do have an UPC sticker (still needs to be scanned). The part number matches the one on the rebate form, so it should be good.

Ive been wondering this to. I have a x1900xtx and I would like to use the newer HIS style which i think is called the iceQ 3.

both IceQ 3 and the cooler on X1950 are based on Arctic Cooling's Silencer; but I don't think they are identical. Interestingly AC doesn't make Silencer anymore, but instead switched to Accelero X2, which doesn't exhaust to the outside.

sorry for OT, but interesting to me.
If AC sold product / rights to HIS and then to ATI
then why they came up to X2 that doesn't blow to the outside?
Ether exhaust to the outside isn't efficient enough, or cooling MOSFETs is more important?
However, hot air goes against MB (down of a card).

what do you think?

according to AC, DHES (exhaust to exterior) requires more air pressure from the fan and thus generates more noise. Accelero raises the case temp by 1-2 degrees, but to AC is a good trade-off for quietness. In addition, Accelero is BTX-compliant, making DHES impossible/unnecessary (again, AC's word). Most reviews comment that Accelero does generate less noise than Silencer, while maintaining similar or better cooling performance.

Hmm..how can you include a UPOC barcode...I wonder do they accept a scan??
rebate says you need a to include a barcode cut from the box????

I've done multiple manufacturer rebates with Connect3D, and received all within a timely manner (6-8 weeks).

I have no doubt they pay rebates more a concern if the upc barcode would be an issue

The only major advantage would be the new cooler. That's not enough to account for the >$200 premium. The X1900XT 256, with old cooler, is priced at $280.

The X1900GT 256MB is now selling for as little as $199. I was checking this one out, and it seems they've disabled 1/4 of the pipelines. There's also the X1800XT, but that one doesn't seem to have the shader pipelines, thus it is of less interest to me than a X1900XT.

I also noticed during my initial research that ATI no longer publishes which chip is in which card, making comparisons a bit harder. They only publish core and memory clocks, and pipelines.

x1900GT is nowhere near a X1900XT (4 fewer pipes, 256 mb less, no to mention slower clocks). To put things into better perspective, at $240, this X1900XT costs about the same as a 7900GT (with only 256mb) while offering performance similar to that of a 7900GTX, currently costing >$400 after rebate. Why pay $200 for a 1900GT when $40 more gets you a far superior card?! I hesitated and missed out on the deal over the weekend; I am keeping my fingers crossed the Newegg restocks before the rebate runs out.

Newegg is top notch as far as service and customer support are concerned, even when it's rebate-related issues. Awhile back many people were getting shafted by a certain manufacturer (can't remember which one ) denying rebates despite complete paperwork. One complaint to Newegg (which had nothing to do with the rebate other than selling the merchandize) and the manufacturer promptly apologized and sent the check. If Newegg posts a rebate, they will stand behind it.

Ahh, I thought I saw a couple asking whether C3D was reliable with rebates. My mistake.
