I've been eyeing it all day. And about $60-$90 up is the X1900XTX, now is 5fps (in most instances) worth that much?

Wow, I was considering the x1950 pro for october, but if I can have this now, I may just have to jump on it. Good deal, thanks. It also beats the 7950gt 512mb if I'm not mistaken.

EDIT: Only in half the tests though... still it spanks it in price/performance... the 7950gt is $300 or more!

How does Sapphire compare to Connect3D, ATi, and MSI branded X1K cards?

they are all pretty much the same; the differences are primarily warranty, and powercolor offers the best.

Sapphire is (JMO) the best third party. They make ATI's cards for them (so I heard), and all the Sapphires I've owned have been superb, and of equal quality to genuine ATI's.

I'm on a Sapphire X1900XTX right now and it's great :D .

Thanks jiffylube1024, I am torn between the X1900XT 256MB for $240 or the X1900XTX for $300 after $30 rebate.
Tough choice here.

I would get a 1900XT 512 over the 256 version, and the 1900XTX is even faster. So the diff can be a lot more than 5fps unless you are getting just 30fps!

If you run at higher resolution, you probably need the 512mb.

But the 256mb XT is a pretty sweet buy. I wonder if ATI is discontinuing the 512mb because this allows them to compete directly against the 7900gt on price. RAM prices are going up...I suspect its getting a little more expensive for them to manufactor cards with 512mb.

Yeah it's a tough choice... I'm in the same boat, can't decide between those two cards.

Edit: Decided to find a used X1900XT 512MB and just OC it to over X1900XTX speeds.

I dont really see much of a reason to go with a 1900XTX. You can overclock 1900XT well past XTX speeds, not worth the extra 60-100 bucks.

The extra 256mb of memory. The new cheaper XTs only have 256mb of ram.

Well, I went with the X1900XT because I had $270 positive balance in my paypal buyer's credit, which means PayPal owed me money. Since buyer's credit is like a credit card, they can't refund my bank acct or issue me a refund.. so it's not very liquid cash.. just credit. In the mean time, I'm selling me 7900GT for $210.00

Think of it this way, I traded about $260 credit for $210 cash and got a better video card out of it.
