Hey guys -

This summer I built a computer for a friend of mine. C2D, 2 GB, all the goodies, except right now he's using a beater card. He had a budget of $1100, and right now we've spent $907. I'm offering him my EVGA 7800GTX (256MB 450/1200 version) for $193 just to get him an even $1100. I also told him to consider a X1900GT. He told me I could decide, because I let him know I was considering upgrading to a 7900GTO/X1900XT 256MB if I sold him my card. However I don't want to give him my card when he could get a X1900GT for ~$10 more if it's a better deal. What would you guys do?

Thanks in advance for the responses.

That's quite a conundrum...

Sell your GTX. You come first, not your friend. :p

Unless this is your best friend or really close friend....

Those cards are pretty close, but the 7800GTX is slightly faster in most benchmarks & you won't be able to sell it for much more then $193 anyway so I'd say its the winner.

Sounds like a helluva deal (Getting ~$200 for your 7800GTX).
Buy him a couple of beers and a pizza. If he asks why, just say you felt like it. Should eliminate some of the guilt. If that doesn't cut it, enjoy your X1900XT.

And Congrats to n7 on hitting Lifer!
