Alright, so I'm as confused as hell. I want to get dual X1900 512s in Crossfire, but from what I've been reading, I'm just lost. So I know there are four models:

X1900XTX
X1900XT
X1900 Crossfire Edition
AIW X1900

As far as I know, the XTX can't be put in Crossfire mode, but the XT and Crossfire Edition can. I keep reading about master and slave cards and how you have to have to buy one card and then buy a more expensive one... so what in the world do I actually NEED to buy? I know with SLI, you just use the freakin' bridge, but this crossfire deal has me lost. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

The X1900XT's perform better. However, I cannot answer your original question.

I can. You need to buy the X1900 Crossfire and then you can pair that up with any other X1900 card. The CF card will be clocked at the speeds of an XT card which is as far as I know the only difference between the XT and XTX.

an x1900xt and a crossfire master card is what you need

from what has been said if you get an xtx and put it into crossfire it will slow down to xt speeds

Wait for the RD580; no more master/slave card BS.

If you already have a crossfire board then ATI cards marked Crossfire are the Master Cards. No Crossfire? Then it's a slave.
