Well to keep it about graphics cards, YES a 9700pro can run crysis. But my 8800 runs it better. I know you wont believe it (and I dont have it installed on that computer), so you can go on youtube and see all the other people doing it.
I never actually said a 9700pro can run modern games, but it can.
And the fact is, I CAN play any modern game...and like I said, it doesnt make them any more or less enjoyable. If its got a good story and/or is fun to play it doesnt matter how pretty it looks.
lol, it can run ANY modern game??? again the 9700pro does not even meet the minimum requirements to run many modern games so you are full of it. heck your 9700 pro does not even have SM 3.0 which is required by some games. some games need more than 256mb of vram just to be playable and I doubt you have more than that. if your cpu is as old as that 9700 pro then you are not playing squat that would be considered modern.

well so much for your claim that you can play ANY modern game. that's over 100 modern games right there that require either SM 3.0 and/or a stronger video card than a 9700 pro. sure there are probably a few in there like Crysis where you could maybe run at 20-30 fps on all low settings at 800x600 but that's about it. the vast majority of those will not be remotely playable if they even let you start the game at all.
EDIT: a 9700 pro did not exactly tear through all games even back in 2004 on decent settings so most modern games even on low settings would kick its butt. and again you would be lucky to even meet minimum requirements in most newer games.
