Definitely the X1800XT ... but I think you should try to get your hands on a X1900XT instead, or even a GeForce 7900GT or GTX.

But, yeah, if you really only have those two cards to choose from, go with X1800XT.

I was going with the 7900 GT KO but now that the rebate is gone I feel it's a little to pricey to be worth it for me.

I don't have to get one of these cards but arn't they the best cards for -$200+?

x1800xt it is, unless they are still out of stock when I finaly get to order

I don't care if the video card can overclock well or is best left alone, I take advantage of what I get.
Is the x1800xt a good overclocker on stock cooling?

BTW: you guys do know I'm talking about the 256MB version?

If you get to order the XT you'll be lucky. When they get them, they usually get ONE of them. I went this morning to order the same card ( X1800 XT 256 ) from Newegg. It was not even on the site. AT ALL...and I had it in the wishlist for a month. Loaded wishlist to cart this morning, card was not in it. So then I searched the entire site...no where to be found. So I ordered the HIS X1900 GT with the Arctic Cooler type sink. Then a few hours later, it was back on the site, but said auto notify. You better pay attention to it if you want one.

My expected ordering times always get screwed up one way or another. Weather it be the builder gone for whatever reason or price changes

If this is not in on Tuesday (if I order, for once) then I won't get it.

Hopefully it is though, looks nice

you'll prob get VERY similar frame rates... in source, you won't notice the difference at all, i'm not too familiar with bf2, but should be similar, i'd buy the cheaper

Depends on the game. According to the latest THG charts, about half the games were faster on the XT and the other half on the GT. Some games seem to prefer the XT's extra pipes, and others seem to prefer the GT's extra shaders. The problem with finding good comparisons between the two is that many reviews compare the GT with a 512 XT. There is a significant difference between the 256 XT and the 512 XT in some benchmarks. The XT's stock cooler is louder than the GT's, takes up two slots compared to the GT's one, but is a more effective cooler than the GT's stock cooler.

I agree, I would go with the GT. In the review, the XT and the GT is only a few frames seperated. With newer games, the extra shaders the GT has may prove beneficial.

Here's my soon to be huge gaming moniter (1680 x 1050 resolution)

Monitor: BenQ FP202W Black 20.1" 8ms Widescreen LCD Monitor http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16824014105

to power that I need a good video card, the x1900gt would probobly be enough but now that the cheap one is off the site I have a good idea
_____________

Check this awsome combo deal
I was already going to get the x2 3800 AM2 cpu and now theres a $50 instant rebate with the high-performing video card

http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=80721-8
http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=321985

Now that's still $25 more but in N.J. we pay tax on Newegg...
but a few items I was going to buy are on zzf as well... so the free shipping and no taxes covers the $25

Conclusion: If the rebate works out I'm getting a X1900 XT for the same price of an already cheap x1900gt:)
