x1800xt heat and driver questions

recently got an x1800xt 512mb ATI vid card.

three questions:

1) is it supposed to get up to 80'C under full load...that seems pretty damn hot to me!?

2) when I install it using the newest omega drivers, there is a 3rd unknown device that shows up. I cannot figure out what this is..nor where to get the driver to install it. Any ideas?

3) my E176fp flat panel can be run at 60hz or 70hz..which one should I choose?

1)Yes they get that hot depending on case ventilation.
2)The extra device is probably the VIVO(video in/out) capability. Download the WDM drivers from the ATI website. If you downloaded the Catalyst Control Panel it should have came with it.
3)60Hz is usually the default isn't it? I'd leave it at default.

I got it installed ...it was some T200 AV Something or other...

as for the heat issue...is it worth upgrading the fan?

also... anyone know what settings would look best for Half Life 2 at 1280x1024?
