x1800xt, 256 vs 512mb

currently newegg has 256mb version of the 1800xt gonig for 290, how big of a performance difference is it compared to the 512?

ive never seen a benchmark for the 256... i wouldnt imagine it would be that much worse but then again the 512 7800 was >>>>> 256 7800...
