Okay strange things...

I have had my X1800XL since Friday it has been working great with very high settings in Q4 and CS-S. Then all of the sudden today its been crashing like crazy. I have done ZERO overclocking, I am using the latest drivers 6.1. I started noticing artifacts during some games loading ... but not during the games. Instead games just crash and frames are very low now. I tried the omega drivers, made sure everything is connected properly. Then something hit me. The power cord that comes with the card has 3 connectors 1 for power, 1 for video card, and one for a harddrive or cdrom or something. Perhaps the 3rd power connector is supposed to be connected to another MOLEX to give it twice the power to draw from? Please only answer the question if you have personally owned the card or are positive that is what I am doing wrong. I don't want to OVER power the card and have it blow up. If that is correct it still would not explain why it was working fine till today.

HELP!

Nothing in the manual dude, also the adaptor that comes with the card has 1 male, 1 female, and 1 pci-e connector, I don't think I was supposed to plug in both.

usually it's only 1. My friend just got 7800GTX (I envy him) and it needs only 1.
