X1800GTO dongleless Crossfire review

Looks nice but I want a card or cards that competes with the 1800xt but still provides the ATI IQ and speed the 1800xt does. That is when I might go with ATI's dual gpu solution. I also don't like the mastercard thing. 1800xt's 512mb are about $300 but the master cards for them are still about $500.

They can already do it, iirc.

i've never seen it stated anywhere they can. everything i've seen specifically states x1800gto and lower. not sure why....

From what I saw ATI claimed they didn't have enough bandwith on the PCIE bus to handle the higher amount of data passed back and forth from the better cards. At least that's the way I understood it...

Thats how I understood it too, and its one of the reasons why Super AA is much faster than SLI AA. Its a highend card only issue for now though, as I understand it. Im all for dongleless. It doesnt bother me, some people dont seem to like it. Ive messed with my dongle once, when I installed it the first time several months ago.
