X1800GTO available at newegg

How will this compare to a X800XTPE AGP gaming-wise? I like the added video features too because I run a HTPC as well.
 
havent seen any site mentions that this card is better than 7600GT the 7600GT is available for a cheaper price..i think they should replace this card soon

256-Bit vs. 128-Bit......... believe me, when you start to apply AA, the 7600GT is going to keel over and die.
 
Now the big question is...can they be unlocked? If at least some of them do, then I suspect that they'll become hot products indeed. Even if they don't, with a little bit of overclocking (they ought to reach 625MHz with the stock cooler), it'll wind up being better than a OCed 7600GT (which it ought to, becuase it costs more).
 
If you could unlock them, you'd be sitting near X1800XL speeds. Depending on your core, you may or mat not get to overclock up to XT speeds. But, this is still dependant on whether or not these unlock.

I'll keep checking for a few benchmarks on these, but I doubt I'll pick one up. I'd prefer to get a 1900 series card over an 1800 series.
 
Considering the underlying framework behind this card, I assume that the unlocking success percentage shouldn't be too bad (ATi has had a pretty good yield of X1900 cards, no?). It should be a very good performer.

This card is based on the x1800 chip, not the x1900 chip. Unless it unlocks, wouldn't a 7600gt at the lower end or a 7900gt/1800xt at the higher end be a better buy? It's about the same speed as a 7600gt but about 30 to 50 bucks more.

There is supposed to be a 1900GTO w/12 pipes coming soon.
I wouldn't buy one of these either - memory=GARBAGE.
 
apart from Serious Sam, 7600GT is neck and neck and slightly better. Even with AA and HDR enabled. They need to lower the price of X1800GTO to really compete. 7600GT is smaller and can be passively cooled. I would wait until X1900GTO if I was an ATI only buyer.
