Please only post if you own the card itself. Please keep this thread civilised and mature. NO flame wars! I dont care if you think Nvidia is better than ATi & vise versa

Im going to seriously consider buying one soon as i can get my hands on one so the feedback from you guys will be very usefull. Not only for me but for others too. Please post pics, temps idle and full load, what performence you get out of the popular games (far cry, hl2, quake 4, fear, battlefield2 ect) what settings you use + all sorts of other information thats useful and intresting.

:)

So far I am impressed. At stock setting i can max BF2@1680x1050 and the lowest frame rate I have seen is 50 in a fierce fight.
Here are some 05 scores:

Stock 9099
690core 800 mem 9693
700core 800 mem 9756

Looks good, i live in the uk so the earliest we can have the cards is estimated 28november, Do all the current X1800XT's use the reference boards and coolers all from the same factory?

rcabor: what are your temps?

I'd like to know the temperatures you get rcabor.

I'll get mine in three days. Can't wait.

10K on one card, I made a thread about this and I was told that it was probably a cherry picked core, guess not. Great Score rcabor will you do some game benchmarking so we can see how well in performs in actual games (thats the reason you got this card I would assume).

looks sweet, a bit toasty though. Think this could be a incorrect reading with current drivers??

The games I am playing right now are BF2 and Quake4. In BF2 I have all setting maxed and have never seen it go below 50FPS @1680x1050(it maybe going below, but I dont see it) its usually hovering around the mid 80FPS and running at 99.9FPS sometimes as well. As far as quake 4, I havent figuerd out a great way to bench it, but it plays real nice.

80C+ seems a bit disconcerting. Is that related to the driver issue or has that been fixed?

Then again 30C+ ambient temperature is a bit much as well :p

Let's see some game benchmarks...

HardOCP's review shows the XT getting beat pretty bad, especially in Minimum FPS almost across the board.

taking into account they're running XT at a higher setting in most of the benchmarks...

rcabor, so you over-clocked the Core by 104 Mhz, and the Memory by 138 Mhz, am I right ?

And the temperature you get, around 80ºC, is it at stock speeds ? Or at over-clocked frequencies ?

And, I'd like to know something else ...

How's the noise ? The noise at "high fan speed", if possible.

Also related to the noise, I'd like to know how does it compare to your Power Supply fan noise and/or your Case fan(s) noise.

Finally (sorry, many questions, bear with me, I'll also get it, in three days, I just want to make sure from a "Mr. Joe everyone" consumer), do you play with both your Case's panels closed ? (to decrease the noise, for example, or evacuate more heat, or the opposite, make it so air-flow is optimal, etc)

Thanks for your time.

Those are some pretty impressive overclocks there! It will be interesting when better and quieter aftermarket cooling is available for this card :) .

It's a great card if u can get a fantastic deal on it (Say $450 or less)

else the 512mb GTX is all you should consider.

rcabor sorry for the new request but this is a big issue with some (including me), hows the noise? How does it sound (high, whiny, low, growl, etc.)? How loud is it (subjectively speaking)? What else is in your case that produces noise? and finally How does it compare to other noisy components (fans, CPU Heatsink, etc.)?

How can you say that? the 512MB GTX hasn't been released yet, all we have are some specs but no idea of how those specs will transfer into performance.

It'll be in stores on the 14th

Those specs will turn into plenty of performance..

at 540/1400 a GTX gets 9500 in 3D 05

550/1800 will get it 10k+

It's faster than a regular GTX on paper. The 7800GTX is more or less even with the X1800XT and is around $450, $400 at the FS/T forums here. If you're going to pay $600 for an X1800XT, then you might as well pay for a 512MB GTX when it comes out. Maybe that's what he was trying to say?

And from benchmarks we already know that the 7800 does better n games compared to its 3d mark score, that transfers to x1800 XT obliteration.

not ATi obliteration, I dont argue company vs company, just x1800 obliteration.
