doing an install for somebody, he bought a bunch of x10 cams and all the accessories. He's not interested in switching to something better. And I'm having a world of problems getting these to work. x10 tech support is a huge joke. Right now, it's 2 cams in 1 office (small sized)
I have tried 3 different pc's to rule out a PC issue, one running 2000, one 2000 server and one XP home. I have the x10 drivers installed, and run the Vanguard software to monitor. I cannot get it to let me view both cams, it sticks to the first, even tho I have the unit # on the 2nd set to something different. We had both working, but I think it was a fluke. I've tried different power supplies to make sure it wasn't a problem there. the cams are in sepreate rooms, and the transmitter/reciever are in a pc about 20 feet from them, they might be 20 feet apart. I'm hoping somebody here's had experince setting up X10's before. As much as I'm hating them, he's paying me to install and he already dropped 700 bucks on x10 products. any ideas? Also x10's support can't tell me where I'm supposed to place the white transmitter box for best results.
