I bought some remote control wall socket turn on thingies, like where you have a remote control and when you hit "on" you can turn on like lamps and stuff.

so here was my idea...

take apart the receiver, and hook it up to the automatic locks in a '93 taurus so i can have keyless entry.

i looked up the fcc's and found that it is 310mhz.

so upon taking apart the reciever, i see the antena coil and 2 pots. if i just take off the antena, A) how much power does it need? and B) is it still tuned to 310 or is that what the pots did?

i'll try to get a pic up as soon as possible, but i just want some general info on radio signals and stuff

thanks much

I'm not sure that'll work... it might use the AC line to transmit data in the 310Mhz spectrum.
