Bungie talks about the development of Halo: Reach - the things they threw out, the things they've added, and what they are trying to accomplish.

Shows some in-game footage from an alpha version but I like what they show so far. Looks like a definite upgrade over Halo 3 and ODST and they are promising more 'sandbox' play over scripted encounters.

Hell yea! That makes me excited. I never bothered to get ODST. I'm 99.9% sure I'll take the day off from work to play this like I did Halo 3 ;)

Hmm, looks like they're going grittier and darker. While them laying off the abuse of lens flares and bloom won't bother me, I'm not sure this new look is totally appealing. This just based on those screenshots, haven't watched the video yet. It is more appealing than the bright shiny from the second game, but looks a bit too dull and drab so far.

I am starting loathe Bungie's PR department. Every single ViDoc for every new Halo games spends like 5 minutes talking about all the new stuff and how totally different an experience the game will be, and it always ends up being a load of crap. I don't mind that Bungie has a formula and wants to continue to refine it (Infinity Ward does the same thing and it's fine by me). But don't then go and claim that each version is something ground-breaking or redefining.

Still, I am liking the (finally!) improved engine for the visuals, as not only does the game look like a proper current-gen title, it looks like the frame rate is noticeably smoother as well, and who am I kidding? I'll buy it opening day anyways and still play the sh!t out of it.
