Bump for a great deal...I ordered the awesome X-10 Entertainment Anywhere package: $69.99 regular price minus $22.50 discount minus $30.00 gift certificate included in the package, free shipping = net $17.49. http://www.x10.com/products/x10_vk57a.htm

Anybody know of a cashback site that covers X-10.com? :)

I just ordered my first x10 stuff a few weeks ago, they almost payed me to get their stuff.

One serious warning: If you do bite and order from them, be prepared to have a new best friend.

His name is "Brian Edwards at x10", and he is without a doubt the most proflific email writer on planet Earth, and quite possibly in the Universe. I must get 37 missives from him everyday.

So if you do hook up with these folks I suggest setting up a spam mail address for Brian and Brian alone.

Oh, and never buy anything from them unless you have a discount coupon, of which you'll have plenty, and they're having a sale, which is about every other day.

Anyone know how good the picture and sound are when transmitted by the 2.4 ghz broadcast system. I'm a little worried about video being re-broadcast via composite video. Also, and I guess more importantly for me would be how much does the sound quality degrade when using it to send mp3s from my pc to my stereo in my bedroom? Is it noticeable? thanks.

In fact, once you're on their mailing list, don't even bite the first time you have a gift certificate/voucher in your hands; you should hold out until you have a voucher AND they are having a "get a free (fill-in-the-blank) with every item you order" promo (which is every couple of weeks).

I held out, and finally got all the X10 stuff I needed for my house for $60 shipped (about $400 "regular" price)

I honestly don't know how they profit from this stuff...

callgirl,
do you actually pay $17.49 or do you pay $47.49 and get a $30 gc towards your next purchase? the section on redeeming your voucher's is a bit confusing. if i could get the entertainment package for $17.49 i'd grab one, but $47.49 is more than i'd like to spend. thanks.

Broadway: you pay $47.49; as noted on the Entertainment Anywhere page, it comes with a $30.00 GC which you then use on your next order (shipping is free)...the net cost of the EA package is still $17.49.

callgirl,
how is the net cost of the item $17.49 when you must pay $47.49? if i were to buy another one and used the gc on that one, then yes the net cost on the second one would be $17.49, but the cost of the first one is still $47.49. thank you for clarifying it for me though.

Does anyone actually used this set? Please let us know the qualities on the video/audio. I like to get one if the qualities are good. Thanks

I've had Entertainment Anywhere installed since it was first released. While I'm sure an audio/videophile could nitpick it, I've been nothing but happy with its performance.

Incidentally, I use it in conjunction with my DVD player, and send the signal from my living room to an upstairs bedroom. I also purchased their "pyramid remotes" (I forget their name for 'em) to allow me to control the DVD from upstairs. In fact, I used the $30 GC that came with Entertainment Anywhere to get the pyramids for $10 shipped!

X10 gets hotter at the end of the month. There's an (almost) 50% off ANYTHING deal there now, and apparently their links to recently-expired deals like the "buy 1, get 1 for $1" deal of a couple of days ago still work and can be combined + they threw in the Hawkeye Motion Sensors, 1 with each item ordered :). I got about $225.00 worth of stuff for $61.00...

Qty Name SKU Price Sub Total
------------------------------------------------------------------------
1 RemoteSENDER + FREE Hawkeye II Mot... PM5900-M1 $ 39.99 $ 39.99
1 Universal Module + FREE Hawkeye II... UM506-M1 $ 18.99 $ 18.99
1 Two Slimline Switch Architect GOLD... SS15A-1D-M1 $ 25.99 $ 25.99
1 Two Credit Card Controller GW Deal... KR22A-1D-M1 $ 20.99 $ 20.99
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Product Total $ 105.96
Shipping Total $ 0.00
Tax Total $ 0.00
Estimated Voucher Total -$ 45.00
Grand Total $ 60.96

I have two pairs of them (one of which they sent me free to beta test). The quality is fine, you probably wouldn't know the difference in a blind test. It's concievable that you might get some interference if you're using 2.4GHz phones or networking gear, but that's why they all have multiple channels to choose from.

They have extended the offer for one more day because the earthquake in Seattle shut down their office.

I've had some of these x10 thing laying around for awhile (just couldn't resist the discounts, vouchers etc.) Finally got around to installing a few of 'em last night. Very cool, very handy.

Can't wait to get more of their goodies!
