The movie was super great, but it pushed all the right buttons of a solid superhero movie I've been craving since Iron Man 1.
I've always loved X-men saga because of it's 'mature' take on story- the in-depth backstory for all each characters, the complex friendship-enemy relationship between Xavier and Magneto, the social commentary about discrimination, etc...
It's far more appealing to me than plain vanilla good vs evil superhero like Superman.
A special mention goes out to Michael Fassbender's performance as Magneto. He conveyed some very strong emotions in the scenes he was realizing his power with the help of Xavier. Not just sorrow, anger, and pain, but also grace and serenity whenever he maxed his powers
.
There is one plot hole that bothered me:

There is one plot hole that bothered me:
X-FC establishes that mutants are the new result of nuclear testing....but Wolverine is a mutant that lived way before the invention of nuclear weapons and dated all the way from Civil War. He's just a natural freak?
