X-Men 3: The Last Stand **SPOILERS**

As said, there are spoilers in this thread, so if you read it, and didn't intend to, it's your own god-damned fault.

Well, I saw X-Men 3 last night, and since I never read the comic, or watched the cartoon, I got a few questions.

If it was a "cure" then how come magneto got his powers back at the end? Is the "cure" temporary, just like the effect of being near the kid?

Also, I stuck through the credits, and was thoroughly confused. Can someone explain who the chick is? I take it from the other thread about this subject, that Charles is inhabiting someone elses body, but who's?

Thanks for helping me out.

i was told the cure is only temporary especially for a high level like magneto (remember anyone who approached leech regained their powers when they were no longer nearby? like beasts hand?). the after credits shows charles speaking through that guy on t.v in a coma which was shown earlier in the movie when charles was lecturing the kids right before storm started to p.m.s or something. this is what i read elsewhere, so don't bash me if im wrong.

The cure was only to "supress" the X-gene. Not cure it. As you can see that bald kid's power wasn't strong enough yet. You have to be in certain range anyway to have its cure effect. They should come out with a sequel or something to fix the crap that they did with X3.

Ah, that all makes sense. Thanks.

The girl is Moira MacTaggart. She is a geneticist linked to the X-Men. At one point she was their housekeeper to learn more about them. In one timeline, she married Charles and had a child. She also married an Xman who never made it into the movie, Banshee.

The cure was only temporary. I think the strong the mutant the faster your powers return.

The woman at the end was the doctor on TV when Dr X was talking to the children. The body was the patient she was commenting on. She is from the comic she, a love interest, and one of the people that leave the planet with Charles and a group of aliens.

The doctor chick is one of his friends, Moira.

Her role in the movie doesn't require the background and probably doesn't match up entirely, but that's who she is. Basically, she's a trusted friend of Xavier.

The body he took over was discussed earlier in the movie. Prof. X was asking the students about ethics, and showed a video of the guy's body. He was a living, breathing organism, but had no conscious. Basically, his body worked but his mind didn't.

When Prof. X was destroyed, his conscious took over this body... at least that's what the movie wants to hint at.

As far as Magneto's powers, the movie wants to hint that slowly the mutants who were given "the cure" will regain their powers, and the effect was not lasting.

movie was a big let down...WHERE the hell was nightcrawler? Im not sure about that chess piece but magneto is a higher level and im sure his powers are strong enough to regain with work.

Lacking nightcrawler let me down, too, but in seriousness, there are so many mutants that it's no surprise that some without a plot point didn't have very big parts. With the addition of Kitty Pryde, I can see where they cut Nightcrawler, because the action sequences could have been similar between the two.

However, historically speaking in terms of comic books, Nightcrawler wasn't a big part of the original X-Men series and made a bigger impact in spin-off series.
