I've seen a new title in our software store where X-beyond the frontier has an expansion pack where you can fly any of the other ship types and it appears more open ended and freeform- like Elite.
Now is this the game of our dreams for Elite veterans? Has someone played this? I'm desperate to know.
I quite liked the Elites on the spectrum and Amiga. Shame advancement could be so slow! But it was nice to be able to change ships and play with the gun turrets on the big ships. What terrible frame rates in Frontier on the Amiga! Can you believe it on 7.2MHz CPU!
