I've got a Moto-G and I really like it. My wife has a Motorola Defy XT. All of us are on Republic wireless. They are offering $100 if you trade in a Defy XT for a Moto-X but this offer ends soon. What to do?
The Defy XT was $100. For $19 a month my wife gets unlimited text, talk and 3G data but not picture texts. The phone will hang up and call back if you go from WiFi to cell.
The Moto-X would cost $200 plus the old phone. The X is a much nicer phone. The plan is also different. For $25 my wife would get unlimited talk, text and 3G data plus picture texts. The phone should seamlessly hand over from WiFi to cell without dropping the call.
The Moto-G is also available with no rush or trade in allowance for $150 8GB, or $180 16GB. The plan would be the same as the $25 Moto-X plan.
Plan wise the Defy-XT's $19 per month is almost better even tough it lacks picture texts because one can always just use the data portion of the plan to send an email with a picture attachment. The benefit of the Moto-X would really just be the hardware/software, not the plan. The better screen, the faster processor the newer Android etc.
Worth $200 plus $6 a month to go with the X?
Also we could sell the Defy-XT for $50ish and use that money to get a Moto-G...
