Circuit city lists them as being 39.99.

If you can do a PM to circuit city...

39.99 x 3 ~ $120

$75 - (%10 ( 120 - 75 )) ~ $70 if you can sucessfully PM to CC.

Actually, I just came back from there and the way they have the ad setup is a little deceiving. It's $41.99 regular price, $34.99 on sale if you buy one or separately. If you buy two, they'll take $15 off the total price, but they charge you the regular price of $41.95 each. If you buy all three, they essentially take $10 off the regular price of $41.95 each and you pay $31.99 per season. Still a pretty good price all things considered, but very aggravating at the counter when you're paying for it. My total cost came to just a little over $100.

The deal works online... it takes $10 off $35 for each season if you add all 3 seasons to the cart.

3($35-$10)= $75 +tax= total (total was about $80 for NY)

That is clearly a crock of shlt. BeastBuy is the worst of the retailers. I looked at the ad in the Sunday paper after reading your post. The ad states the price of 34.99 each. It also states 15 off instantly when you buy any two, and 30 off instantly when you buy all three. Nowhere on that ad does it say anything about reverting to the regular price. I hope you go back and take them to task on this. Just add all three to a cart and print out that cart and show it to these wankers. After several bad experiences with Beastbuy, this is the kind of reason that I won't shop there unless it's a loss-leader type item they are selling, (I am sure nothing they sell is actually loss-leader).

They screwed up.. go back and get the correct price. It's 30 off the sale price.

Unfortunitly for me.. I already own season 1 and 2.. but hey.. now I know I can get season 3 for 35bucks.. going tonight!

Usually they are like 70+ each season..

They're re-releasing them with smaller packaging (I think).

Yep, the smaller packaging was what the paper ad has as the selling point. Although I'm not sure of the rationale behind the fact that you now get less and have to pay more. I'd go with the old versions for much cheaper...

Speaking for myself, these were the older packages with the older SKU numbers. Maybe that's why it wasn't showing up properly at the register. I'll try to go back after work today to see if I can square this.

Wow! Too bad it does not apply to their other hot DVD offer right now. Even though it's TV on DVD and even though a lot more than what they list qualifies, it does not qualify. DAMN! Oh well, now Best Buy has all the Stargate and X-Files sales for the week :)

OK, just got back. They did credit me $22 back on my credit card so my total came to about $25+tax per season.

There does appear to be some sort of SKU issue though. The season sets that go on sale for $34.95 don't actually hit the shelves until tomorrow. These sets come in the newer, slimmer packaging and only come with 6 DVDs each (the online description is wrong, the printed flyer is correct).

The sets I picked up were the older ones that come with 7 DVDs each. The seventh disk is the extra features and stuff. I'm not sure if they've condensed the seventh disk onto one of the other CDs for the newer sets, but if you're picking up sets, it might be better to grab the older boxed set if they still have it at your local BB. Just make sure it rings up properly at the register.

Maybe they figured out no one wants to pay 90-120 dollars for X-Files!

I'm a total X-Phile and I won't pay that much!! 35 bucks is perfect! :)
