I think these are X-Files that the studio has repackaged into the thinner-type sets for cheaper. List is 49.99 instead of 100.00 or more. Finally a good idea. Here's more info from Amazon X-files here

It looks they will ship on 1-31-06. They are calling these new sets the X-Files Collector's editions.

Feel kinda bad for the folks who paid $100 for the old DVD sets back when they first came out. I'm holding out for the complete series box set (like the Buffy Chosen set that I saw at Costco for $125 not long ago, along with the complete Angel for $100), since that'll eventually wind up being the cheapest option and probably easiest to store.

Read the Amazon link. It's all about a thinner package. Nothing appears to have changed so you're not getting less than before, which is generally the case when someone starts charging 1/2 the price then they did before. One reviews states the extras on the original set are the same although I am not sure how he/she knows since it hasn't been released.
