I've tried Windows 7 and XP.
I've tried the drivers on the site and on CD.
I have Cyberlink PowerDVD 8, came with my blu-ray player. (I'm not sure how it's even relevant, just saw it in a post somewhere.)
I have the correct cable, mini whatever on one end, optical audio on the other.
I told the console launcher and audio control panel, and windows playback settings to use digital I/O.
I tried disabling "speakers," that is - analog audio. I set the digital as default device.
I cannot Any sound, whether set to 2.1 or 5.1.
No light even comes through the cable.
2.0 Does work if I use onboard audio.
At least 2.0 and possible 5.1 work with HDMI, but that means I lose eyefinity. And it's flaky, if I press mute, I have to restart to get sound again.
In both cases I lose my equalizer and the quality of my X-Fi card.
Any help?
