hey there not sure if I posted where I'm supposed to but here goes. I have a doubt as to how the following setup would work, so please bear with me. Right now I have an X-Fi XtremeGamer and a set of 5.1 Speakers (analog), I know that the setup is all working correctly because it's plugged right into the card, so it's all good there.

Now in my infinite stupidity and a never ending wish to waste money I might be considering in near future to buy a 5.1 Headset, so I did some research and what I found to be the best deal for the amount of money I would be willing to spend is the eDimensional AudioFX Pro 5+1, the thing that bothers me is that the interface is USB, so I'm not certain if the X-Fi chip would do the audio processing or it would start taking away my precious CPU cycles.

Even though all the software is set for the X-Fi to be the audio output, I'm just not 100% sure if the sound will be processed on the sound card if it's not directly plugged to it one way or another. That's why I'm having my doubts with the USB interface.

Here's the newegg link in case you want to see pics/specs:

EDIT: Besides that, if you have any other recommendations for a 5.1 headset for around $40-60 let me know, I'm willing to check out all options. Mic isn't an important thing to me, Good 5.1 sound and that it works with my sound card is what matters to me.

Question answered by an eDimensional rep, says the headset will not use the hardware processing or the X-Fi chip at all. So for future reference to anyone with a similar inquiry, if you're hoping to use your sound card with the eDimensional AudioFX Pro 5+1, it's not possible (However it is possible with the regular eDimensional AudioFX, because it has the option to be plugged with a 3.5mm jack)
