X-Fi xtreme music question

Anyone know of a site that properly explains the audio creation mode? Its quite complicated to a first time user, and the supplied manual is very basic - or does anyone know themselves how to use the damn thing????

Well, the super-rip sounds good - but not that much better than the CD it was ripped from (it was also much quieter too-guess I can't use it either) - the main downside to it is ripping in 5.1 at 96khz makes one song about 450 megs! Why don't creative actually TELL you how to use this fancy hardware they've spent years designing?

A. there is no point in ripping CD's at 96 KHz. It will sound no better than if you ripped at 48 or 44.1

B. Music is Stereo, converting it to 5.1 is sketchy at best and the software to do this has been around for years, it has nothing to do with hardware.

Yeah - however you put it though, the software bundled along with the card is immensely complicated to figure out without instructions. All you get with the help files are a general outline of how to press play or how to make a playlist, then a load of advertising crap about how wonderful the product is. Ok, you can stop it now - we bought the damn thing!

As for converting to 5.1, its all done with separating different sound frequencies - god knows how - and it sounds a helluva lot better than it did with the last card I tried with. Point is - great product, would just be nice for someone to tell me how to use all the features!

I'll stick with Logic 7 for my 5.1 matrixing needs thank you.
