So currently I have a Audigy 1. I listen to a ton of music, mostly downloaded mp3's, cd-rips, or just plain CD's. I have Klipsch promedia 2.1 speakers or use my high end Sennheiser headphones. I listen to mostly acoustic rock, rock, jazz, basically everyhing except rap and country.

Would it be worth the 120 bucks to upgrade? Read a lot about gaming and what not, but when I play games i use headphones, and dont have surround sound...

No. I doubt you would even notice the difference on Klipsch or Sennheiser equipment..

There was a deal just a couple days ago for an X-Fi for $75 after rebate.

If you're really into music and have those nice headphones, and have good source material, it would be a good idea.

The most appealing thing seems to be the surround headphone feature. If you game with headphones, that's one of the best reasons to get an X-Fi.

That's a load of bull. I upgraded from a A2 ZS and can hear a very noticable difference in sound quality. The headphone improvements alone is with getting the X-FI.

Most of my mp3's are good quality. I will be buying SACD and DVD-A's when the come more readilby availible. I do game a fair amount and only do so with the headphones. Most of the games are BF2 or CS:S. So surround headphone features could be cool.

How do you figger $120 to upgrade when it costs aboot $75, as said, minus at least $30 the Audigy could be sold for = $45. Unless you're in the habit of throwing out good hardware ;)
