X-fi worth it for 2 speakers?

Hi all,

I've read good reviews of the creative X-fi card. Right now I have an audigy 1 with 2 speakers. I listen to music and game. Would it be worth moving to the X-fi card card on a 2 speaker system? Or is the X-fi mostly intended for elaborate sound setups?

Thanks for any advice.

The money would be much better spent on a nice 5.1 system, as the speakers distort much more than the sound card, and moving from an Audigy to X-fi, I highly doubt you will tell a difference in the sound quality, unless you are an extreme audiophile.

No, spend money on new speakers instead. You still haven't unleashed the full potential of that Audigy yet.

NO NO NO NO!!!! I don't care what your 2 speakers are, X-Fi is only going to show you real noticable benefits with a 5.1 or 7.1 setup. Spend the money on a good 5.1 setup and your audigy will be fine.

It kinda depends on what those two speakers are.

Either way if you're sticking with two speakers I think there are better soundcards to be had for the money.

Indeed, ESI Juli@ would be one of them.

yeah get the x-fi no matter what speaker setup you have. eventually you will come to a conclusion to test your sound card on something with differnt speakers other than the ones you currently own.

That's all I use my x-fi on is 2 speakers and a sub. I actually prefer it over surround. I hate having speakers all over the place. And for music it gives a better sound stage. The x-fi makes two speakers sound very full and expansive because of it's quality.

I went from the audigy 1 to the x-fi and it was a HUGE difference.
