X-Fi with modular power supplies

Is anybody using an X-Fi card successfully with a modular power supply? If so, what kind of PS? I've heard that modular PSs introduce interference that can cause noise with a discrete soundcard, but I'd really like to clean up my case a little, if I can get away with it.

Thanks. It's been several years since I built a system, and things have changed...

A modular power supply isn't going to have any more noise than a standard power supply.

Because the power is still coming through the PCI port, which is connected to the motherboard.

I know quite a bit of X-Fi owners have resorted to putting a emi shielf over the x-fi in computer. They say it helps with the common cracking/popping from X-fi. Never tried it myself though.

some of the Xfi soundcards use a direct floppy connector aswell.

I haven't experienced anything like that, and my X-Fi is a few inches above my [modular] PSU. (it's installed in the last expansion slot and there's nothing between it and my PSU)
