I got the Creative X-Fi Xtrememusic sound card about a month ago and everything was fine for a couple weeks and than all of a sudden it just would stop working every now and again. i have to restart my computer to get the sound working again. it will just cuts out for no reason. i have the new drivers for it and i even reinstalled windows thinking that another programs might be screwing with my sound card and yet it still cuts out at times. it will also stop working when i try and switch modes from entertainment to game or audio. i'm not sure of what else i could do, any suggestions?

Spyware and virus scan.

If that doesn't work, go to a local electronics shop and pick up another X-Fi and see if it exhibits the same problems. If not, you can *ahem* do a swap, or be a good guy and RMA your card...and hold onto the retail X-Fi for 30-day intervals ^^.

If not, then you might consider a clean format or something.

is that an nforce4 board you have?

if so there was a little prob that has been fixed,... make sure you have the latest x-fi driver for your xtreme music model,(2.007.004 i think it is on the site).. and make sure you have the latest bios for your motherboard
