tried to install x-fi card in kid's pc...

1) deleted nvidia audio first, turned off ac97 audoi in bios, pc booted ok...
2) plugged x-fi in in last slot... box wouldn't boot...
3) tried enable esdi(?) that reshuffles irq's... no go...
4) tried other pci slot... no go...
5) pulled card, still won't boot now... gets to screen where it says 'sorry windoze didn't boot last time, what so u want to try?' and then reboots no matter what option u pick...

sheesh...

anyone run into this?

i guess i'm gonna reset cmos without the card installed... i have sut off all things in bios that use irq's that i'm not using...

jose, u must work at a help desk...

actually, i did some more searching and found that the latest dfi bios fixed the problem for one guy...

and that was the fix... the 6/23 bios solved the problem... the 3/10 that i was running had problems, it seems...

and i've not used any of it's recent predecessors, but this thing sounds pretty darn good through my old klipsh 4.1's...
