X-Fi install disc corrupted - the downloads from Creative seem to e lacking

Well, the drivers online (from my experience) doesn't come with everything that the CD one does, usually the CD is bundled with a few more apps.

Oh, and Red Swinglines are awesome.

You only get the basic drivers that make your soundcard function from Creative's website, the rest of the goodies are all on the cd. What's the problem with your CD? You might wanna contact creative for a CD replacement or something.
