hi guys, i just got a pair of sennhesier hd595's and ive plugged them directly into my x-fi fatal1ty soundcard.

the problem im having is, i dont know how to mute or switch off the headphones and just listen to sound through the speakers, without unplugging them from the soundcard, which is a pain.

ive got a pair of cambridge audio megaworks 2.1 250D digital speakers, which come with a little volume control with a headphone connection. should i just plug the headphones into that instead?

also i noticed on the box of the x-fi soundcard, it says **Digital I/O requires Soundblaster I/O Module.

do i need one of them too?

many thanks

Nice headphones man!

I have the HD 650's and a pair of HD 280's myself:D

and if you REALLY want to make those headphones sing get a headphone amp

they will sound better plugged directly to your sound card BTW and not in the speaker headphone out. you COULD plug it in there but it wont sound as good. i kind of have the same problem but i have a volume control on the keyboard which helps or i'd have to bring up the windos volume knobby in the taskbar to lower the volume.

not sure about the I/O thingy.

hey lamere, yeah they're nice :) look good, sound good and so far feel very comfortable. heh, i dont think they're a patch on your 650's though...

hi videogames101, ive got a coax cable (which Ive been told is an RCA cable) going from the Digital In on my subwoofer, to a 3.5mm mono to phono adapter plugged into the Digital I/O on my soundcard. Is that about right?

Thanks guys
