sup all... my Xfi was working all fine... and a few days ago they start giving me from nowhere all the common syntoms this cards have... beeping.. hanging... cracking and such...

I dunno why is doing this... nothing new is in the computer... nor an update... the drivers they have now are the lastest one, they work well for a lot of time.. and then the crapness arrive from nowhere...

U think this X-Fi is about to get busted... or is some random code crapping around the driver to give problems at a certain date or something????

I would make absolutely sure that nothing has changed software wise. It's far more likely that it's a software issue than a hardware issue (solid-state hardware generally doesn't randomly break). But if you're sure nothing has changed, then I would start looking at the card.

I remember they said that X-Fi overheating causes cracking issues, thats why on later version they installed a heatsink on the audio chip.

x-fi are so troublesome... i had like a 100 issues with it... since day one.... sometimes the problems go away then they appear from no where and so on.... I done with creative... how useful is a card in where some people say it works flawless... others complain about cracking.. others about a long perpetual beep until restart.. and other BSOD... and even worst the card doenst work at all in some boards...

Its all compatibility, i know it is... everyone know it is... but sound blaster or creative are so crap... they start blaming other people lol... like nvidia... but then the card fail in amd too.. so they start finger pointing amd... and so on...

in the end they point the entire world... because their card isnt suppose to be plug to any bus at all... the card best work with solar power when u put them on your roof...

this is the kind of stupid comment that does nothing but to make matters worst... no body cares if is fine on you when the talk is about some problem...

U sound like a friend of mine, he and his 10 funny licenses or certifications of computer stuff... he never manage to fix me a problem, and when I mean a problem I mean a hellish one... actually he doesnt fix a problem to anyone...

He only start with a bunch of explanations and theory of the computer or hardware with computer... and start stating reasons of why that shouldn't be broke or malfunctioning and telling you that everything is fine.. u are kinda dreaming the problem.. yeah right...

OH by the way.. is a well known fact that this xfi cards have breaking issues on 40% of owners... and some light issues around....

Uh, so, by stating that not all owners have had issues, I perform a disservice? I know many people who have had troubles with x-fi's, but I know just as many who haven't, and both situations should be made known to a potential buyer.

Every hardware product has some percentage of consumers that it will causes issues for, and just hearing the negatives can't give you that percentage, and it is that percentage by which purchases are based on. CPUs for example, have a very flow failure rate. In the case of x-fi. I simply wanted to make it known that not every user experiences "OMG BSOD CRASHES HALP!!!"
