So after 2 days of troubleshooting headache, Creative says they need to RMA my card for a firmware update. And I need to pay to ship it back. Not what I expect from the leading sound card company. How about, you e-mail me the tools I need to update the firmware myself Creative? Or atleast pay to ship my brand new $120 buggy card back to the works.

Anybody have the updated firmware or a link to it? And what tool do you use to update sound card firmware?

I have an X-Fi XtremeMusic and a DFI Ultra-D NF4 motherboard, and I haven't had any issues.

Sean Maxwell, why don't you see if there's a BIOS update for your motherboard?

I've read that there have been a fair amount of users with issues between their X-Fis and NF4 motherboards.

I do not think you should have problems with this board. I came across comments from people with your mobo and no problems, A8N SLI bios ver 1007 causing no problems with X-Fi.
I guess getting BETA BIOS was not the best idea, there is release version 1014, why take Beta?

If you're using a beta BIOS, I can't imagine why you're shocked when a problem comes up.

I have an X-Fi and an nforce4 board from MSI, and it didn't have any problems installing the card.

I had 1014 with all the problems, and the only thing newer was 1015 beta 🙁
