X-Box Warrenty Question...

I purchased my X-Box 360 at a local Wal-Mart and now I got a letter from Microsoft about extending my Warrenty with them though I already purchased a two year warrenty with Wal-Mart... is it really worth it to buy another warrenty through Microsoft?

EDIT: The reason I ask is because my friend bought his X-Box 360 from Best Buy and when he went to exchange his X-Box 360 for a new one since his broke within warrenty they told him if he wants to keep his warrenty he would have to purchase another warrenty through Best Buy though this is his first and only time he had any problems with his X-Box 360. I do not know if my local Wal-Mart does the same thing or not and on the X-Box letter I got about the Microsoft warrenty they stated in the letter I can get exchanges as many times as I wanted within the warrenty period...

When did you buy it? They extended all warranties to a year recently. Are you sure they aren't just informing you of such?

If you're getting an offer to buy an extended warrenty, it's probably a scam.

A warranty on the other hand....
