The most versatile solution is to run it through your computer. Equip the latter with either a PCI TV card, or use a graphics card with VIVO capability. An AIW is a bit of overkill, and the drawback is it binds you to this graphics unit, whereas a PCI TV card will stay a while ... it'll be a few years until PCI slots become extinct.

And it lets you use all the nifty video scalers and beautifiers you've already paid for when you bought your graphics card.

Do NOT use a tv tuner to run your Xbox on yor PC. The IQ is terrible, and thats if you don't get terrible blurring.

The Viewsonic Nextvision N6 is very good for what you want, but its also pretty pricey ($175). I believe the lower ones leave a lot to be desired, so I don't know if I'd even consider them.

The best thing would be to get a VGA adapter.

I didn't say you should go through the tuner. Of course, you should go through the SVideo input of either the PCI TV card or the VIVO function of the graphics card.

VIVO cards might be different, but even going through S-Video on tv-tuner cards is crap.

I've had both the Leadtek TV2000 Expert and now the Hauppage Winfast PVR-250 and both have been quite disappointing in their ability to manage signals other than coax (which, needless to say would be very ugly if you used it). The Leadtek had decent, but nowhere near normal composite quality picture. Plaing anything with much movement caused noticeable blurring. The PVR-250 is absolutely pathetic. It was so bad that the card was causing seconds of delay. For instance, I was playing Project Gotham. When I would steer it would take about 2+ seconds to actually start turning on the screen, which needless to say makes the game unplayable.

My friend has an AIW 9700. I'm not entirely sure how he has his PS2 connected to it, but the image quality is very bad. I've watched him play several games that have nice graphics and they look like he's playing PS1 or N64.

This is just what I've encountered.

If you use a capture card or tv tuner, make sure that you run it with D-scaler if your card is supported. D-scaler gives excellent quality for tuners and capture cards.

You best bet for best image quality however, is to make a xbox to vga adapter. The reason that is supirior is that you can run games in progressive and in high definition if the games support it. It certanly gives the best IQ of the solutions discussed here.
