When will Madden 2004, NFL 2k4, etc. come out. Okay, never mind, I just found it... Madden is 8/14/03. I just got an x-box and want a football game, but am not sure if I should wait until the next batch.

Also, which football game is the best? And which game is it that you can get the college version and draft the players to the NFL version?

Thanks,
Nick

Half the crowd likes Madden, half likes NFL2K. Both have college games with importable players (edit: guess Sega doesn't).

Madden isn't online, if that means anything to you.

Both are good. Get whatever you and your friends are used to. If you don't normally play them, you might like NFL2K more with the ESPN logos everywhere making you think you're in sportscenter.

NFL fever sucks single player. The name of the game is to pass pass pass. So if you are just about any team and you play the 49'ers, it is nearly impossible to beat them. OTOH, it's a great party game. Scores range in the 60's each team :)

My favorite is NFL 2k_.

For import draft classes and things of that matter the only one currently that does that on xbox is NCAA and Madden since Sega is not releasing a College football game this year.

With Madden having online play this year (2004), that pretty much evens the score. You are just going to have to try all three (Madden, NFL2k4, NFL Fever) and decide for yourself.

Should you wait? Nah... You can pick up an '03 version pretty cheap. Go for it, and get a few months of practice/fun. :)

No online EA games for the XBOX....or has there been a recent development?

No recent developments...All EA sports games are ps2 exclusive online....which doesn't really mean much, since they weren't ever online on xbox anyway.

Nope. EA and Microsoft still haven't ironed out their differences. At E3, EA announced only the PS2 will have online EA games.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

I prefer the Sega NFL2K series. I've played both and they are pretty similar except NFL2K has online play. That sealed the deal for me.

I ended up getting NFL 2k3. $14 vs. $30 for Madden 2003 at Hastings, couldn't pass it up.

Has anyone played the new Matrix game?

I disagree. I think fever is one of the better football games for xbox. It is a little more arcadeish but its very fun. Also the games are not ridiculoudly high scoring if the people playing are half decent and know how to play defence. I think the fever live play is better then 2k3s as well.

I have Fever 2002 so I don't get Live play.

Put it this way, I played the Dallas Cowboys for a season, Galloway had over 2000 yards receiving and 46 touchdowns and Quincy Carter had a 70% completion percentage in the first 13 games. This is on veteran level. I just kept calling short outs, tossing to Galloway, and he would outrun the defense. If they double-teamed him I tossed it to Rocket and he outran them. This is on 5 minute quarters. I would hate to see the score if I ran the full 15 minute quarters lol!

The game has a serious problem with speed, ie: any players with speed can basically score touchdowns at will. Whenever I play the Cowboys, none of my friends can beat me. They can stack the defensive backs 5 deep on every play, but if I can get the ball in the hands of Galloway or Rocket it's an automatic touchdown 70% of the time. The only way to beat me is to play the Colts. Harrison and James both have deep speed and can score just about as well as Galloway and Rocket.

Sorry but the game isn't realistic.

I just picked it up yesterday. I've played it for about 20-30 mins so far, and I really like it. They did a good job of making it all feel like it's a part of The Matrix.

I played through it with both characters last week. Pretty decent action game on its own, a lot better if you're a fan of the movie, as it fleshes out some things shown in the film.
