X-Box - Fable: The Lost Chapters

Aside from not being tied to a console for one version, of course. 😛 I was browsing the console games at my local Fred Meyer's and discovered that they had several copies of Fable: The Lost Chapters for the X-Box at $1.97 apiece. I haven't played my regular X-Box in a while, and have always meant to get around to this game.

at $1.97 it's well worth buying.

I played it on PC and it was a lot of fun. The PC version is probably better since you can scale the graphics up.

at $1.97 I would never pass that up, and like StevenYoo said the graphics is probably the only difference. The PC version might have some mods too.

IIRC, you can turn "Post Processing Effects" (bloom lighting) off in the PC version, that alone makes it worth it (if the xbox does not offer you that option). Bloom lighting is one of the most disgusting graphical effects implemented in games today.

Stock content wise should be identical. The PC version will offer better graphics (most importantly, higher resolutions) and better control customisation. There are mods around for the PC version, but the modding community is not nearly as extensive as say Oblivion and NeverWinter Nights' modding communities (since Microsoft never released a toolkit for Fable, AFAIK).

I went ahead and bought it, won't have time to play it for a while though. 🙁 It was the last copy at one Fred Meyer's store, and I didn't know if the other had any left or not so I snagged it. When the cashier saw it and saw how much it was, she asked if there were any more left on the rack.
