Despite Xbit showing the X1800XT kicking the 7900 GT's ass in this review, I think their results tend to be inconsistent lately. Personally I think hardware.fr does a better job at testing than xbit does even if it's not as extensive and so does bit-tech.
award GeForce 7900 GT with a title of the best $299 graphics card in the today?s market.

Xbit is always slower, their reviews are far more extensive as a result.

So you have to go to France to find someone who will support your biased opinion.
Xbit has reinforced what we have all been saying....

This may hurt your ad campaign.

why? did you mean it's a no-brainer to choose the 512mb XT at $299 pricepoint (contradicting their statement the GT is the best card at that pricepoint)?
or the GT because they're ignorant to the fact that the more powerful Radeon X1800 XT (their words, not mine) sells for $300?

Yep the 256 mb X1800XT costs less than a 7900 GT and the 512 MB version is at $299 right now: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814102629 I sent Xbit an e-mail to let them know, lets see if they amend their conclusion.
More powerful on "paper" but it seem real world results differ.Originally posted by: CaiNaM

It depends. For OCing i would choose the 7900GT and if not i would buy the X1800XT. Its as simple as this.
Unless your bias toward one company.
Did he list the card for sale in his post or his sig? Was the price listed in the thread title? You are reaching past your grasp with that thread statement.Originally posted by: akugami
On a side note, waiting for certain folks to come in and castrate Gamer X for his blatant product advertisement. These people know who I'm talking about.

In most tasks it outperformed Radeon X1800 XL and in some of them it competed on equal terms with a more powerful Radeon X1800 XT.
