Average of 73C on a 13900K at 200W. Yeah, can't figure out why Igor didn't try different power profiles, especially the Extreme one. I smell "sponsored" instructions were obeyed...

Meh, seems like a hassle. Thermal grease is easy to apply once you understand the goal.

FWIW - I serviced a device that had an actual X applicator, and with this device…you used it or else lol.

The system is tightly controlled. Deviation from instructions was and is a nono.

Data center gear, there’s a handful of system types that are very detail oriented with an escalation path when things don’t go right. I never wanted to be the guy holding the screwdriver when something got escalated and it was my fault, so tried my best to not be that guy by following the instructions.

Anyways, I don’t think this thermal guide in the link is terrible, I just don’t want to clean it, and it’s unlikely to give better performance compared to someone who generally knows the goal.
