hey, I was just wondering if anyone had any experiences with these kits and how well they work. for instance, do they stop, is the quality as good as you would expect for dvds, etc.

X-10 is a great company with inovative products and great prices. Yes, they will pepper you with daily emails, but you can change the frequency of their emails quite easily at their site. I have the X-10 Mouse Remote and another product that turns my lights and appliances on via remote and both work awesome.

They are always having sales like $20 of $50. I don't have a problem with their emails.

Thumbs up to X-10. Buy it, try it, if you don't like it, return it.

I agree with LarryJoe. I'm an X10 junkie. Got 2 MouseRemotes, the Video Sender, IR Remote Extender, and literally dozens of home automation modules connected to lights, switches, outlets, and my garage door.

The 2.4GHz wireless audio/video transmitter works very well for me. As does the other stuff.

Yes, they do send a lot of e-mail, but you can opt-out if you like. I finally did. Oh, and their website looks like a 6 year old designed it, but that's no reason not to buy from them.

It looks pretty good. Not as good as when the DVD player is connected directly, because then I use the S-video connection, and the wireless link is composite video. So far, everyone who's seen my setup has just assumed everything was connected with wires. But at any rate, it looks way better than I would have expected given the $69 it cost. Sound quality is good, too, although you only get a stereo (or Dolby Pro Logic or Surround compatible , not Dolby Digital) signal. Overall, I have been very pleased with the results.

I've seen other stores sell the exact same gear (with a different name on it) for up to $200!
