Oh give it a break. I've been on the moderators' cases early and often for what I perceive as unfairness, but that was purely the reaction of one person who meant well and was just a little too zealous in trying to steer a thread in the right direction. Nobody was censored, nobody was banned. And you certainly don't need to twist this to be a "gays are a protected class, we poor straight people are discriminated against" thing.

I see. When I first saw that thread's title, my first thought was, "This is going to go really well," and I never ventured in there.
Based on the really compassionate responses I'm seeing by skimming through, I see I didn't miss much.


A mod call-out thread isn't really a good idea though.

I don't get it, I don't see many posts of a minority bashing the majority here at all. Most bash threads get shut down quick.

I don't think any hate thread would fly though as it shouldn't. If you could honestly post up a thread on your views on homosexuals, atheists or whatever and stayed on fact and true objectivity then I'd be willing to be the mods would let it fly provided the local brigade of asshats didn't degrade it into side issues and things never posted.

What happens though is when people don't like something they assume it's their opinion or nothing. That's just ignorance. You can easily say you don't agree with the other person, but you can't really say they are wrong.
