I don't have it yet, but i've been researching it a lot this long weekend and know that 1 out 3 get cancer these days?

Would you get a second, third, fourth opinion?

Would you trust your doctor and go straight to the standard of care (chemo, radiation, surgery)?

Would you kiss your butt goodbye and just get your affairs in order?

So what would you do?

I'd do nothing. I doubt I'd even know since I don't go to the doctor.

I like the idea of having a conversation with my great grandchildren.
Get 2-3 opinions and get treatment.

I'd consider myself lucky that I live in Canada and don't have to make meth to pay the bills. I'd probably pray that if it's my time, just make it quick. I'd do chemo and whatever standard procedure would be recommended for it and hope for the best.

Still have to pay for some of the drugs though, which can get quite costly.
But I agree, I'd fight it.

Cancer risk is quite low in my family though. Heart disease is a concern, as that's what's killed most of my relatives. I'll have to watch out for high blood pressure when I get in my 40s.

Yeah true, I have a drug plan, but that would probably be moot if I can't work any more and have to quit. Some pills can be ridiculously expensive too.

Has anyone ever though that maybe the cancer industry is complete BS, and that the cure for cancer already exists but the people who stand to lose money on non-effective drug treatment doesn't see a monetary incentive to produce a cure?

I was under the impression that chemo, radiation, and surgery were the only tools we have to fight cancer, but after a bit of research, I no longer think that to be the case.
