www.stupidcomputers.com "flown the coop"???

I have been trying to contact them for quite a while now to cancel my MamboX MP3/CD player order. No answer. In fact, one of their phone lines is dead. So finally, I called Internet Secure and they said in the past week or two, they've had no response from this company - seems to have dropped off the face of this earth. I also note that the MamboX website has removed them from their list of vendors.

Just a word of warning to you. The strange thing is that their website is still being updated.

Edit:

P.S. I wasn't sure where to put this. They sell... errr... sold... hardware and software, but it isn't really a hardware message.

check out www.gbcomp.com if your looking for a new hardware place in canada, good prices and like 5 bucks shipping to anywhere in canada, then another 5 for cod, pretty good prices overall too and super nice guy that runs the place

Well, unfortunately, there were only 2 distributors in Canada for the MamboX. Stupid Computers was one of them so I ordered from them. Big mistake - I'm out a big chunk of money.

I wonder how many are in the same boat as me, because, Tagram (makers of MamboX) listed them on their website as a place to buy from.

Thanks for the tip, Phil! I've had good luck with Onvia so far, and the 10% pointclick rebate applies to us here, too!
The Coupons are sure nice...
Very good customer service folks!
I'll have to check out your suggestion, just to see how they compare.
🙂

Actually, I just checked the place out... looks very unprofessional. I'd prefer to buy from a big business with great prices and won't disappear overnight, than place my trust and money in a one-man fly-by-night operation.
I'm not saying that's what he is, but having bought a computer and being ripped off by a store (real, walk-in store) that disappeared a month after buying an expensive but crappy 386DX-25 years ago... I learned how to build computers myself quickly after that! :|

If you ordered with your credit card simply dispute the charge. That way you haven't lost a huge chunk of money cuz of some dousche bag that decided to jump ship leaving many customers unfulfilled.

All the info has already been submitted to the bank. Thanks for the info guys (and gals?).

Actually, the office is in town. Maybe I'll pop by to see if anything's left there.

Man, I feel sorry for you guys! I actually used to think stupidcomputers.com was one of more reliable Canuck online vendors... and to think I was about to order a DVD-ROM from them! Has anyone thought of mentioning this on ResellerRatings.com?
