they seem to have lost faith in ATI also

"Rather than just spring the news, I figured I should let you in on some of the behind the scenes conversations we have been having over here. The basic summary of what we're discussing is that Radeonic will soon cease to be, not because we're giving up on the computer hardware scene which is a passion we all share, but because we can't continue pretending to offer a service to the ATi user when ATi themselves don't seem to give a damn! Before I get too full on, let me state clearly that ATi-UK have been awesome, offering everything they could, but it seems the parent company doesn't offer them a lot of support either (my words not theirs). We have been promised a place on their mailing list for 8 months, it never happened! Our emails to them go unanswered, our requests for new hardware under NDA, or indeed under any other circumstances, are refused due to a "lack of resources". On a daily basis I try to defend ATi to readers who have had endless technical support emails ignored or who have been stalled and given the run-around. It makes ATi look bad, it makes us look bad and it does nothing to repair their reputation as a company who cares only about their OEMs. Sometimes, even with the best will in the world you have to admit you're beaten, and until ATi get their *sses in gear and learn to appreciate the value of sites like Rage3D and the other few active fansites, then you have no need to wonder why there are so few of them on the 'Net right now. The Radeonic team will continue, but it will be under a new name, a new look and a new focus. As soon as we have the details we'll post them right here but for now it's business as usual under the radeonic banner. End of rant!

You know I fell bad saying this because I have owned a few ATI products now as well as in the past. But in light of the recent events and the lack of any new drivers for the 8500 I will never in my life buy another ATI product...... In fact as I am typeing this I see an ATI panner and it is pissing me off to no end.

This is the Edit As i am sitting here thinking ATI reminds me of a song from Tool that had the words in it Lie, Cheat and Steal. Lie about the same core speed. Cheat in Quake 3 all just to try and steal market share. So if you can do businees with a company that bluntley does this to the rest of the human race good luck.

Yet another example of ATi dicking around their customers.

ROFL. ATI is making the shift from OEM to the end user. Unfortunately for them and us, it's something that takes some time. Not only do business processes have to be reconfigured, but there is a cultural shift that has to occur. Sr. Management has recognized some of their deficiencies and are currently taking steps to address it. Just not going to happen quick enough for either side.

Maybe by the time the R300 is ready to roll, they will have their heads on straight.

Part of the reason why RadeonInc might not have received the support they desired is due to their traffic. Video card companies can't afford to send off demo cards and preview cards to every wannabe hardware site. I'm not saying they are, but it's ATI that sets the numbers.

sending out a few cards is nothing, how much does a 8500 cost ati? 100 dollars, 150 dollars, heck maybe even less than 100
cheap advertizing if the card is any good................
it is kinda true there really isn't all that many ati fan sites on the net, not that I know of at least

We've never heard that one before now, have we? "They will be ready by then." Yeah, sure they will.

ATI may not have many fan sites but Rage 3d beats any nvidia sites I have been able to find so far. I just swapped my Radeon 32 ddr for a GF3 Ti 200 so I've been looking...

Yes that is a good site, but still quite as good as Rage 3d. The traffic in the Rage3d forums is what I really liked.

MrGrim they have a few new folks in Sr. Mgmt and are letting some non-performers go. First step in some big changes. New folks are former SGI people who understand marketing a bit better than the Mounties up North (no offense to mounties in general... just the ATI Mounties). I'm talking about marketing from a design, development, launch and most importantly SUPPORT standpoint.

I think if anyone can turn things around, they can. ArtX seems to be getting more involved in things now that the GameCube is out. Could be very interesting.
