Hey Everybody...

I just bought one of AutoShield's EasyCare extended warranties on-line and I have to say that they were not only the friggin' best price, but also the most professional of all the auto warranty sites on the net!!

They have a $100 bucks off on their warranties as a standard coupon to AnandTech Forum folks...

Lots of good information!

Better prices than I could get at the Honda dealership or on the other warranty sites...........I know, I spent 2 hours comparing quotes!

Funny, but I didn't see a time requirement or other such conditions to pass along a good deal...I was referred to this site by a long standing member...a few more posts than yourself.

Just trying to help out the people out there that might be looking for a good deal on an extended warranty. Or maybe you have a better deal to share with everybody instead of just a general comment of negativity!

Again: www.autoshieldinc.com has the BEST prices out there. Text

$100 coupon expires soon...just check it out.

Why would I pass along some news about something if I weren't happy about it? Do you find yourself posting leads on hotdeals that you yourself are not that keen on? Whatever.

Because spammers have done the same thing as you.
Besides, it's already been posted.

I believe in giving people the benefit of the doubt, but do you see why people are skeptical? Out of nowhere, here comes this new member talking up something that's already gotten its due. It begins to look like you know someone at the company and just want to see the company's offerings stay at the top of the charts here. It's already old news, as forum postings go. Sure, people come and go and miss a lot in the process, but that's what the Search button is for.

It would be nice if a future version of the forum software searched out keywords in titles automatically and presented the results to the prospective poster so they can see if the prior posts were the about the same thing.

Where Hot Deals are concerned, it seems to be an unwritten rule that you lurk around for a bit, replying to other posts, maybe even in other forums, to get your count up a bit. This way, people can search out your posts and see what you had to say. Anytime someone looks suspiciously like a shill just to get free advertising, they're going to hear about it. Or, make your first Hot Deal post something from a known company, like a special way of getting a low price via rebates and price matches, etc. Autoshieldinc.com is an unknown quantity here, and it's been mentioned now separately more than once.
It doesn't look kosher, from a non-biased perspective. It may very well be a fine company with a great product. But this method of advertising the company --if in fact that's what's going on-- stinks. Credibility is important here. Personally, the moment I find out that someone's been pulling that crap in a forum like this to drum up business, I avoid the company for that very reason. It's like the idiots on Ebay who have friends and relatives (or even themselves) falsely bid up prices. It's just lame.

I don't know about anyone else, but I plugged in my info to get a quote and since that day I've received an email every other day reminding me of my quote. No opt out on the email led to autoshield.com filtered into the trash. If you want some spam, fill out a quote request.

i saw this when it was posted. not a bad deal, but it was way too high when compared to warrantydirect.com , autowarranty etc for my car.

there are better deals out there, just my two cents

edit: alright 800 posts! ;)

Many of the spammers all make the same arguments, so it's hard to tell them apart. Not saying the original poster is one, but that's how it goes.

I only got the initial e-mail with the quote link, and one quote reminder a couple days later. Haven't gotten anything else since. The following message from Warantydirect (and a similar one from warrantygold) makes me question the legitimacy of autoshield for California residents:

Thank you for your interest in Warranty Direct.

As you are probably aware, the California Insurance Department (CID) has a regulation that prohibits you from buying a warranty from a web site, by phone or through the mail. A little over a year ago, they stopped all web sites from offering warranties to California residents. A few companies still continue to offer their product in violation of this rule and are subject to fines and regulatory action.

Good conversation...but I have a few words for you guys since I DID spend several hours before buying a warranty from AutoShield...

The other warranty sites offered initially worse plans, or not as comprehensive coverage upon getting an initial first quote. You have to scroll through several screens to get the same coverage from AutoShield...and then they were hundreds of dollars MORE! All of the majore site were more expensive: warrantygold, warrantydirect, warrantybynet.

I would forward a sample ...but who cares this much? You guys just sound like old ladies on a porch!

By the way, if a warranty is offered in Dealerships across the country, and in California, you can buy anywhere. AutoShield offers its warranties in brick-n-mortar places...that quote from warrantydirect doesn't apply....:)

Done with this forum.

P.S.

I own a cleaning company and have my trucks covered by different warranties...

Yes, I also spend hours looking for a warranty. All of the major web sites seem very similar.

I winded up buying from warrantygold because they had a good BBB report, seemed to be around and very visible, and their diamond(the most comprehensive plan) was hundreds less than this autoshield place.

7/100k diamond for 2000k at warrantygold vs 2500 bucks at least for less years at autosheild.

sure you definitely need to call and negoiate a little.

hm.... "done with this forum" <-- now this make me a bit suspicious cause why join up, post one deal and be done with the forum :disgust: ... sounds more and more like someone is pushing his "deal" a bit too much now
